GoogleMapRipper is a tool for automatically creating large maps from Google Maps. It is meant to spare us the trouble of having to paste together many screenshots, in order to print a map for a route or a small tour. The program writes a UNIX shell script. That script uses widget to download the images and ImageMagick's montage to combine them to a big map. The program runs on Java 1.5. The source code is freely available. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.
