Someone on the MacWorld forums was annoyed that the "Search With Google" command he found in Mail used Safari instead of his preferred browser. Of course, the explanation is that it's not a service provided by Mail but by Sfari itself; it just shows up in context menus via Mac OS X's "Services" feature. Here's a tool to do search for selected text on several different sites that does support your preferred browser. It's supported on Mac OS X 10.5 and up, and is native on PPC, and 32- and 64-bit Intel systems.
