Windows-file compression can slow down computer performance significantly. This is especially true for files that are written too frequently. When writing to part of a compressed file, the entire file needs to be recompressed. This can be a major performance hit for two reasons. First, the writing process takes extra RAM and CPU time. Second, when files are recompressed they also get fragmented. This utility allows you to compress all files on your hard-drive based on the Date-Modified time. This allows you to get almost the same savings in disk space with a fraction of the performance hit. Version 1.04 will no longer compress files with the System File attribute (such as ntldr).
