ArchiveCmd is a command line utility that can be used to archive or delete old files (requires the .NET 3.5 framework). The evaluation software is fully functional, but will only process five files per run. This should allow for an adequate evaluation of the software. There are numerous command line options that allow you to specify what criteria is used to archive or delete the files. Now, v2 now has the ability to compress archived files, the ability to exclude files and folders, and the ability to process read only, hidden and system files. The utility was designed for archiving log files that accumulate on servers such as web server logs, but could be used for any type of file.
