Backing up and recovering huge volumes of data using an online backup service is impractical (The practical maximum limit for online backup is about 10GB to 20GB). In addition, using SmartFiler Backup Appliance solution you save the monthly service charges of an online backup service.
The SmartFiler Virtual Backup Appliances are used as a pair to provide onsite and offsite data backup. Once paired, the two SmartFilers create a secure private tunnel (like VPN) between them to communicate and transfer data. Data transfer between the onsite and offsite SmartFilers are always encrypted. The offsite SmartFiler can be stored anywhere with internet access.
The SmartFiler Appliance series offers several models with varying capacity and functionality to meet the data storage and data backup needs of small and medium businesses.
