What is it? Ankow enables you to access files (and music) from your home computer via a password-protected secure web page. You can also select folders to share with your friends. Everything is secure, intuitive and easy to use. How does it work? Ankow uses a new kind of peer-to-peer technology. You install a simple piece of software that runs on your home computer that acts as the publishing agent. We call it the publisher. It works in conjunction with our scalable server cluster to provide secure access to the folders you choose. Is it spyware? Adware? Malware of any kind? No. We work hard to protect your data and your privacy. Can't I do this with Gnutella/BitTorrent/...? Nope. Gnutella and other peer-to-peer content-sharing networks are very different from Ankow. First, these other systems do not provide secure access to your private files. Second, they do not have fine-grained access control. Third, they are only suitable for "content" (like music, movies, software) - not your personal files, photos and documents.
