dPhoto is a utility for your digital camera's pictures (but not only) to rename, get info, dispatch, change the dates and other features. For example: Usually, the picture's name is like 'DSCN1985.JPG.' It's good, because the number is unique, but not explicit! According to me, one of the best way to rename pictures is to add first a category (single character), to keep the number and add an explicit name. For example: 'L-1985-Sunset.JPG' where 'L' is the category for Landscape. If you do so, you can recover the old names in few seconds. But, it's very easy to order and structure the name in a different way as you please.
