Independence War is a realistic space simulation that uses real physics but is still highly playable. You have to use combat skills, puzzle solving, imagination, and bravery to play through more than 40 handcrafted missions (the demo includes one five-minute demo mission). It includes full spoken dialogue and an animated mission briefing. Voodoo (640-by-480-pixels), Voodoo 2 (800-by-600-pixels), and the original Software (640-by-480-pixels) modes are included, as is in-game help, an optional arcade mode, and an HTML manual. Features include fully modeled spacecraft with every system simulated, a large variety of enemy ships, authentically mapped solar system planets and moons, and sophisticated AI for nonplayer ships. The updated demo adds remote logon and fighter combat, features normally found in other missions, and fixes the joystick problems present in the old demo.
