The Losungen (or Daily Watchwords) are bible verses for each day, published since early 18th century by the Herrnhut community (Moravian church). They contain an OT verse, drawn from a pool of approximately 1800 verses, an NT verse, and scriptures for the daily bible reading. The Losungen are well-known especially among German-speaking Christians. The Losungen want to help to listen to God's word in everyday life. Therefore, they are short and easy to memorize, but they still disclose the richness and fullness of God's word while accompanying us through the year. Further, the OT and NT verses invitate us to read them in context. The Losungen are now published in approx. 50 languages throughout Europe, America, Africa, and Asia.
