Illustrations is designed to help individuals relocate material that can be used for illustrations in sermons or other public presentations at a later date. For example, let's say that you are at home reading a book and come across a quote that you think could be used in a message. Because you are away from the office, it would usually be easy to think "yes, that would be a good quote to use"but under many circumstances there is no easy place to record its location. As a result, many people simply try to rely on memory to locate it at a later date. Then, when it comes time to use it you can''t remember where it is or spend a great deal of time trying to locate it. Now, you can use Illustrations to record the name of the book, the title of the quote, the topic it would apply to as well as the page on which it is located. Then at some time later, when you are ready to use the illustration you can easily locate it. It should be noted that Illustrations is not designed to record the entire text of an illustration, rather it is designed to help you find it once again at a later date.
