Do you have a need to run SQL Server jobs on demand?
Job Start gives users the ability to run jobs on demand from their own PC. Any jobs (including database backups and scheduled jobs) that have been setup on SQL Server can be invoked by Job Start users. However it has been particularly aimed at users in situations where they currently are unable to load or extract data on demand. While some IT personnel have access to the database management system that allows them to kick off jobs, most users do not have this capability.
Upload files or reports produced by jobs can be copied to/from any network location or a users computer using FTP.
Security and access to the database is a major concern. Job Start uses existing SQL Server security plus adds its own layer of security to allow only authorised users to run jobs. Users are only able to see and run jobs for which they have been given access.
Job Start can cater for any number of database servers, FTP servers, databases, jobs and users. All this functionality, security and increased productivity and yet only two very easy to use screens.
