Settled by the Kennicott Family in 1836, The Grove was once home to Robert Kennicott, Illinois first naturalist. The Grove was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976. It is on National Registry of Historic Places and is a partner with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Chicago Wilderness.
