SARTrack International

SARTrack is a Live Tracking system based on the Amateur Radio APRS protocol. It is intended to be used during a SAR Operation, to track the location of the Search Teams in the field, in remote areas with no Internet and Telephone coverage. It requires of-the-shelf Radio based APRS 'trackers' and repeaters, which can either be on the Amateur radio bands, or on a dedicated frequency. The software also incorporates Messaging and SAR Logging systems, and more features are added. SARTrack is in active development (2012). Maps are not included, but can be either be generated from the OpenStreetMap system or manually added. The system is intended to be used when no Internet is available, however it will act as a gateway when Internet is available, making it possible for organisations outside the Search area to participate in the Search (with Messaging, Logs, Markers and Search Areas on the map).
