DocumentStoreManager (DSM) is document management software that provides management of document content and attributes such as check-in, check-out, workflow and version management. DSM is different from a conventional 'backup' system which will typically examine documents for changes and then overwrite the backup version with the latest version in the process of which, the previous revision is lost. DSM has the ability to 'back-track' through versions or revisions of documents to an earlier time. DSM allows the user to create a 'relational database' which can be used to monitor and track revisions of documents. These documents can be any format recognised by the operating system from standard desktop applications from Microsoft and Adobe to complex intelligent CAD models.
