Overview:
Although this program is often used by computer forensic professionals, it is equally useful to someone that just wants to snoop around to investigate what web sites someone has been visiting. Just point and click to the web cache folder and it will create a meaningful list that not only displays all the file names in the cache; but, more importantly, displays the title given by the web page's creator. In an attempt to hide their online activity, people will often delete their browser's history list, but they will leave all the files in the cache. With the WCI, you can look at those cached files and shed considerable light onto their contents. If you have ever tried to look at the cached files with a web browser or a file explorer, you know how useless the list is: basically you only get the file name, size, and other data not descriptive of the contents. This program gives you much, much more information, and it displays it both neatly and succinctly. More than just a list, however, the presentation is shown in a browser so that you can view the list with a browser and actually see first-hand what any of the pages look like. It also has a built in View/Delete Wizard so you can selectively delete files if you want. Options such as the ability to sort the list by title or date or to filter graphic and/or binary files from the list also exist.professionals, it is equally useful to someone that just wants to snoop around to investigate what web sites someone has been visiting. Version 5.3.4 improved the look of the status window.
