eLecture 1.0 (Windows)

Overview:

eLecture is a turnkey virtual classroom software product based on Unreal Media and Live servers, allowing conducting lectures over the network, with students attending the lectures virtually. The eLecture satisfies a wide range of purposes from corporate training to school and university distance education. The eLecture allows broadcasting near real time audio and video from lecturer's camera as well as screen capture of lecturer's desktop. Students can submit feedback, post questions and receive answers in text chat mode in real time. eLecture Console is a Windows application allowing students registering with eLecture Server, subscribing and participating in lectures. eLecture Server includes Administration Console allowing lecturer or administrator managing lectures, lecturers and students. The eLecture Server also includes Unreal Media and Archival servers for broadcasting and recording purposes. eLecture Server runs multiple lectures concurrently and supports thousands of concurrent users on standard server hardware. The accompanying Media Server may require considerable bandwidth to support large numbers of users. eLecture comes with built-in support for English, Spanish, Italian, French, Russian, German, Portuguese, Chinese and Japanese languages; other languages can be easily added via language files that come with the software. eLecture is a truly Unicode system. The lectures can be scheduled at a particular time or periodically; limits on number of participants and number of questions each participant can ask are supported. Up to 3 audio/video feeds can be configured with each lecture; Unicast and Multicast delivery methods are supported to serve LAN and Internet students. The audio/video streams are encoded by Unreal Live Server with WMV/MPEG-4 & MP3/WMA codecs.
