Overview:

Bin-it: a desktop trash can providing quick and easy access to the OS X Trash. Features include: Desktop Trash: Keep a floating trash can on your desktop - not hidden in the Dock; Trash Level Display: Your trash icon changes depending on how much is in the trash (your trash isn't just empty or full, so why is your icon?); Adjustable: Select from multiple trash styles and change size, opacity and other settings. Take control of your Trash! From the Author: I guess that like a lot of people, I miss the old / classic wastebasket / trash desktop icon (pre-OSX). Other applications I've tried which provide a desktop icon have been a little clunky (or maybe I just haven't found the right one?). I've writen a cocoa application rather than a script, so it is open in the background, ready to kick into action when you drag and drop. It can be added to your startup items (see the readme file) and be there every time you log in. I've tried to mimic the behaviour of the original wastebasket - it darkens when you are about to drop a file (or files) and shows a 'full' or 'empty' icon as appropriate. Let me know what you think!
