Overview:

This utility alleviates COM Port lock-up issues caused by FTDI chips (and other utilities). FTDI chips are used in hardware devices to enable serial COM port communications through a USB connection to the PC. The FTDI drivers fail to release the COM ports when the device is removed from the PC. After the COM ports have been enumerated past 16, Windows XP no longer recognizes additional FTDI devices connected to the PC.. i.e If the same device is connected to multiple USB ports on the same PC or multiple FTDI devices are connected to the same PC, the issue occurs and the device is no longer recognized. This application resets cleans the enumeration parameters in the registry.
