Overview:
BitWise is a free for personal use instant messenger that focuses on security and features instead of eye-candy. BitWise provides all of the basics of instant messaging, such as a contact list, one-on-one chat, chat rooms, and file transfers, but BitWise goes beyond barebones. All of your messages and file are encrypted using Blowfish encryption, keeping Internet snoops out of your affairs. Advanced file sharing and file transfer options, such as resume and a file transfer manager that shows all transfers in one window, make file transfers and file sharing easy. Other notable features include whiteboards, tabbed chats, URL history, log viewer, XML logging and offline messaging. Without any ads, spam or spyware, BitWise is unobtrusive and ensures your privacy. There are even versions for Windows, Linux and OS X, which all work together seamlessly.
