Overview:

ALP exposes typical Web programming interface but is not a Web server. The programs for ALP run as desktop applications without need of Web server or even network. It combines the desktop and Web programming techniques in one. ALP ships with installer you can use to deploy your applications, Browser (ALPFrame) with extended DHTML features and huge run-time library. ALP allows even autoruns to be built in ASP and/or CGI. The component library shipped with ALP is compatible with Microsoft IIS, thus enabling you use them without fear of lost compatibility. Web programming for a desktop software may look strange for some developers, but it offers natural simplicity and natural compatibility with Web servers. Even if the developer decides to make something desktop specific it is usually a matter of minutes to change such code so that it would work on a Web server. Combining server and locally working code written in the same way opens even more opportunities.Version 1.2 provides support for all languages, not losing the compatibility with the oldest 32-bit Windows versions, many new components in the library.
