Overview:
SmartyDWT is a Macromedia Dreamweaver MX and MX 2004 extension. Its main purpose is to simplify editing Smarty based templates in Dreamweaver. Smarty is a very popular open source template engine based on PHP. It is fast, stable, extendable, easy to use and comes with a lots of useful features.Version 1.3 includes the Macromedia Dreamweaver extension and a PHP class. The extension adds a insert menu, a insert bar, code formating rules and icons for smarty tags that are visible in dreamweavers design view. The file extension and document type 'tpl' is added. The PHP class extends the Smarty class. It adds prefiltering which is needed to convert all smarty tags used within dreamweaver to the standard tag format used within smarty.
