Overview:
PestPatrol is a security and personal-privacy tool that detects and eliminates destructive pests, such as Trojan horses, spyware, adware, and hacker tools. It complements your antivirus and security software, extending your protection against nonviral malicious software that can evade your existing security and invade your personal privacy. These pests often lurk silently on your computer until something--or someone--sets them off. When that happens, you can lose passwords, personal data, credit card numbers, and--if you telecommute and connect to your office via a VPN--opens up a backdoor to your entire company network. The latest version includes a separate spyware database for better, faster spyware detection; intelligent reporting that indicates threat levels of pests detected and advises appropriate action; custom selection of what pests to detect; and the Control Terminal, which provides easy access to all modules via your system tray. The new version includes many security updates and improvements, bug fixes, and more spyware definitions.
