An intricate cargo web and a dynamic financial environment set the stage for your chance at showing the world what a true robber baron is capable of doing. Buy and sell stocks, schedule train routes, lay rail, build stations, and take over companies. Railroad Tycoon II boasts an intuitive interface, beautiful terrain, detailed rolling stock, and buildings designed to please dedicated train enthusiasts. If overseeing all of this is too much for you, let your manager take over, and just sweat the big stuff! Hire and fire managers to help run your company, each with talents and abilities far beyond those of nondigital men. You can also invite 15 of your closest friends to contest your title as a railroad tycoon in a real-time struggle for power. The demo includes two fully playable scenarios: ""The Golden Age,"" focusing on the northeastern United States in the late 19th century, and ""Cape To Cairo,"" focusing on Cecil Rhodes' unsuccessful effort to build a railroad across Africa and unite the continent at the turn of the century.
