Overview:

For some reason, Apple has changed the way the iSync menu bar item works in Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. From Apple Support: "To sync with any phone that's been configured in iSync, the iSync application must be open to sync to it via Sync Now from the Sync Status menu. In other words, if you set up a mobile phone in iSync, you will not be able to sync information with it from the Sync Status menu if iSync is not open." This is different to 10.3 and earlier and in my opinion is a step-back in user-friendliness. Sync Now can be added to your dock or your favourite menu bar application launcher to bring back the old 1-click sync functionality without having to manually open iSync and click again. When run Sync Now will open iSync, start the syncing process then quit iSync and itself when finished.
