Overview:
Now you can share a central OSX AddressBook with others in your office or across the internet. We tried to use .Mac to synchronize our contacts but it simply didn't do what we needed. Only Mac users could Sync and the .Mac web interface doesn't allow sorting by groups and with .Mac all Groups are published to all users - and there is the annual .Mac fee. All we wanted was a single central AddressBook where users can only update their own records - with username and password protection for each Group. But we wanted the data to be Shared with Windows users as well who may need to connect from a remote location across the net. Also, we didn't want our telemarketers to actually have a copy of our AddressBook data stored on their computer for ever more - we just wanted them to be able to login, update records and logout.
