Overview:

CGvirusscan is a quick-n-dirty (and reasonably effective) virus scanner for the CommuniGate Pro web server. It relies on Virex and the Unix "munpack" utility ((C) Copyright 1993,1994 by Carnegie Mellon University, All Rights Reserved). While "munpack" is included, you'll need to buy your own copy of Virex. Incoming messages are decoded and scanned against whatever Virex DAT file is currently installed. If a virus is found, the sender is notified, a log entry is created, and a copy of the message is stored. As an added bonus, a script for automatically updating Virex DAT files is also included. This may even be of some use to people who aren't using CommuniGate Pro. This program has worked remarkably well on the server for the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University for roughly six months. It scans around 25,000-30,000 messages a day on a 500MHz G4. I certainly wouldn't use it on an extremely high-volume server, but it should provide a viable solution for many people.
