Overview:

SCiFT is a freeware utility to send files to people through software they already have. You may want to send a file to someone through an instant messaging service or a file sharing service, but they may not have the software and a membership to that service, and it is inconvienient to download software for a file sharing service and sign up, just to send a file to someone. Or maybe you and a friend have the software for the same service and a membership, but the service is down. With SCiFT, you can send a file to someone through nearly anything that can receive files using the HTTP protocol, like Internet Explorer. SCiFT has been tested and works with Microsoft's Internet Explorer 6, AOL's Netscape Navigator 6.2, and Headlight's GetRight 4.5d. Should work with many others. SCiFT does not work through networks or routers. If SCiFT is producing addresses with IP addresses starting with 192.168, eg.
