Overview:

This program grabs a picture and takes little slices out of it and saves them into individual files. These files can then be opened with quicktime player and turned into a nice little movie which makes it look like the thing is moving! Which, of course, it is. The best way to think about the program is having a large wall mural before you. You have a laser pointer which is in the shape of a box. You move the pointer across the image and take a picture of what's in the rectangle. What you get is a bunch of pictures which you could use to create a movie of panning across this mural. The mural is a tiff, jpg, png, and the laser pointer is a user defined slice of image that gets saved to a file. Source is available.
