Overview:

Baxter is designed to make backing up your important files virtually effortless, thereby making you more likely to actually do it! We all know that it is crucial to backup our important files, but we don't always do it. It's too complicated, too hard to figure out, or simply takes up too much disk space. Baxter is my attempt to make this easier for you. Baxter works by allowing you to create simple documents that control which directories are backed up, where the backups are to be placed (ie. another folder, on another computer, on a CD, or on a DVD), which items are backed up and which are ignored, and whether to backup all files, or only those that have changed since your last backup. It tracks the state of your files at different points in time by the use of "snapshots." A snapshot is just that - it takes a "picture" of the state of your files at that point in time so that you can track which files have been added, deleted, or modified. Features: Backup to a folder on a remote or local disk, CD-R/CD-RW, or DVD-R Backup all files, or only those that have been modified since the last backup Filter out unnecessary files (cache files, Finder information) Automatically name CD's and DVD's after creation Catalog each backup after creation Search your catalogs to locate the most recent archived version of a file for restoration
