Many firefighters learn all about flow rate, friction loss, and pump pressure during a class, and after that we go into the field and just "wing it". If there is not enough pump pressure, you just add more, right? Well, in some cases that is how you are forced to operate, but with FireHose, the situation is improved. Our Palm software will calculate flow rate, friction loss, pump pressure, and more in seconds. Now you can know in advance whether your hose lay will work as designed, before you waste precious time finding out the hard way. You can plan out your prescribed burns with greater accuracy, saving time and resources. During education and training, you can instantly demonstrate the effects of a larger hose size or higher nozzle pressure. When you test your hydrants for flow rate and pressure, our Hydrant Flow Rate calcluator will quickly show you the Observed and Available flow rates using the Hazen Williams formula, based on your Pitot guage readings.
