Overview:
Knobjex (short for Knowledge Objects) is an information-manager that uses a networked approach to store information. Any item (or 'knowlegde-object') can can be linked to any other item. Allthough meant to be a knowledge-database, it can hold any type of data. Especially it has been adapted as a PIM-tool for task-management, a calendar, and procedure-management. As opposed to some email-programs, where tasks, appointments and contacts are all different things, everything is stored in the single table. This table has rows of the form: Object1 has a Relation to Object2. This gives a great flexibility and oversight. Each object can be represented as a specification of a more abstract object (and theirby inheriting its properties), together with the properties that make it specific as compared to the abstract object. An example can clarify things. Take as object 'car'. This can be seen as a specification of 'vehicle', and so it will overtake it's properties. Then the only needy info to qualify the car is what makes it specific as compared to the vehicle. This is for example the property 'road-travelling', 'four-wheeled' and motorized. So we would get: - vehicle defines as means of transportation - vehicle can be specified to car - car travels on road - car has four wheels - car has motor Knobjex also has the ability to synchronize data with your mobile device (although this is only a subset of all data in the database). It can export the calendar / tasklist, any number of preselected branches, and also it can import new items from an import file.
