Overview:
dixio helps the users to understand digital texts providing them with immediate meanings with just double clicking on the words without leaving the web page or document that they were reading. The version for personal computers which we are introducing here is called dixio desktop. It is a multi-dictionary service on-line, configurable and very easy to use. Just double click on any word that appears in any application (word processor, browser, PDF, etc.) in order to get definitions, translations, synonyms and antonyms, pictures, etc. It helps the users (students, professionals, etc.) to understand quickly and in an accessible way what they are reading o studying on their computer. dixio has a wide linguistic coverage since includes dictionaries in several languages, translators, encyclopaedias (including Wikipedia) and thematic glossaries. Moreover, we improve these contents including compounds terms, idioms, set phrases, plurals and verb conjugations. This is why dixio is one of the platforms with the largest number of real words.
