Overview:
BackupAssist performs automatic, scheduled backups of Windows servers to a variety of backup devices, such as tape, hard drive, REV drive CD/DVD, NAS and file. In the event of a server crash or other disaster, files and system state can be restored from the backup media. BackupAssist will allow you to run custom scripts before and after backups. This enables you to take advantage of the BackupAssist scheduler to perform backup related tasks - such as exporting data from accounting packages to disk (in preparation for the backup). We've incorporated super-fast scheduling, intuitive user interfaces, daily email reminders and report notifications to make the whole process simple for the average user. BackupAssist continues to leverage and improve on proven backup standards.Version 5.2 includesL Exchange 2007 can now be backed up directly from Server 2008 through the imaging engine; Hyper-V aware backups: imaging engine will now allow the user to enable the Hyper-V VSS writer, allowing full backups of running Hyper-V servers, and Rsync backup to standalone NAS devices is now supported through the 'SSH tunnelling for Rsync Daemon' option.
