Overview:

Ensnare is a Swing and JMF based Java program which is capable of recording the desktop screen into a QuickTime video clip. It can automate screenshots and make them available in three image formats, namely jpegs, gifs and bitmaps. It provides a screen annotation feature which enables you to draw (in any on-screen color / given palette color) and add labels on the screen (zoom in and select an area) before capturing it along with the annotations.
