Overview:

If you frequently save a document to the same folder, you may be frustrated by having to drill several folders down, over and over again, Windows XP provides, in the Open File (or Save File) dialog, a pane of shortcuts on the left. Alas, your frequently used folder is not among those five shortcuts - and there is no way for you, the user, to replace even one of those with your own shortcut. Fortunately, with Software Candy's Truly Your Places Bar?? you can accomplish just that - replace the last shortcut (My Network) with any folder in your system (even a network folder!). When you install Software Candy's Truly Your Places Bar, you will be prompted with the a folder selection dialog box. You then select your favorite frequently used folder, which will replace the My Network shortcut (the bottom most icon). Then, from now on, whenever your invoke the Save (or Open) File dialog box, you will be able to select, in a single click, your favorite frequently used folder. Note: The free version of Software Candy's Truly Your Places Bar allows you to replace only one shortcut - and it is always the bottom one. The Pro version, Truly Your Places Bar Pro allows you to replace all five shortcuts. Version 2.0.0.2 now supports limited ("restricted") accounts.
