V Phone is a mobile SIP client application for mobile phones using the Symbian s60 3rd edition Operating System.V Phone is NOT locked to any voip provider, you can use your own provider! The app communicates directly with YOUR provider, it does not go through any third party gateways.The app makes mobile VOIP voice calls & sends SMS messages using your VOIP provider via WiFi or 3G/Edge/HSDPA/GPRS. On Wifi, you can effectively make voice calls and send an SMS without a SIM Card.The V Phone accepts incoming SIP or VOIP calls via a DID number. DTMF features is supported.The app accepts multiple input of voip providers for making voip calls. The application uses codecs G729, G711, ALAW, ULAW, iLBC, GSM.The app has 3 voip providers options for sending SMS messages. They are Pennytel and Clickatell (http/https method only). The 3rd option is called ''User Defined'' where you can select your own voip provider that you currently use. The only requirement in using the User Defined option is its only configured to use the http/https method of sending an SMS. Because the User Defined option is not aware of your provider''s settings, you will need to know the following information:- the URL of where to send the SMS- the parameter names of the user & password used by your provider.
