Overview:

With this screen you will find a precise display of centimeters and inches on your Pocket PC. You must want to make sure how to offer the same scales on different machines with different pixels and different screen sizes. We afford options of common screen sizes in the setting menu, such as 3.5 inch, 3.7inch, 3.8 inch, and 4.0inch, so that you can set screen size if it exists in the choices and the program can recognize the dpi (dot percent inch ) automatically. The application will display the ruler based on the screen dpi and the screen size. You can test it with a real ruler and will find there is no difference. In the setting dialog, you can select your screen size. If the screen size of your pocket pc is not listed in the options, you can also select ?Custom size? and fill the exact screen size in the edit box. Note: If you do not know the screen size, you may ask the manufacturer of your pocket pc to get it. To have more screen display area for measurement, we can hide the menu bar and the tool bar. To use this configuration, push the first button in ToolBar to be full screen mode Note: To exit the full screen mode, you can use any hardware key. SuperRuler is more than a precise ruler. It can be a protractor with an angle domain of 0-180 degrees, and full screen mode is also available. By using the stylus, you can dynamically measure angles. When you click the screen with the stylus, a red line indicates the direction from the center point. As shown in the image, the first value shows the selected angle, while the second value shows the degree of rotation from this angle to the horizontal. To have more screen display area for measurement, we can hide the menu bar and the tool bar. To use this configuration, push the first button in ToolBar to be full screen mode Note: To exit the full screen mode, you can use any hardware key. You may be surprised by SuperRuler for its interesting and practicality. But what''''''s more stirring is that it can make the remote distance measurement feasible. Let''''''s try! It''''''s a sketch map above. Mary, the girl on the right, must know her height, which is the length of FG. We focus our line of sight on the top of Mary, and the line is EF. To click the screen where our line of sight focus, we can get two points: A and B, so, AB gives the angle degrees of the line of sight actually. Similarly, we can get the angle degrees of the line of sight on the feet of Mary. Lines AB and CD intersect at point E, thus, it creates a triangle EFG. It will not take long to compute the height of the triangle which is just what we need if you know the degree of the angle and the length of the bottom edge, because of its shape. By contraries, we can compute the height of Mary if we know the distance. It''''''s clear to see that there is an option to gain the degrees of the angle, except for the options to measure height and to measure distance. To compute it by the 4 points which user click if you choose ?Screen Measurement?, or to enter the degrees of the angle between the top and the bottom of the target into the edit box if you choose ?Manually input?. When measuring, SuperRuler will make a sound ?Di~? if you click on the screen so that you know that you have touched the screen when you are focusing on the target instead of the screen. Practice data for reference: We have experimented to test the height of an icebox. The height of the icebox is 135cm, while the distance between the door and the icebox is 413cm. To avoid the error caused by the shaking of my hand, We put the PDA on a chair on the position of the door and then tested the distance between the door and the icebox, using the method introduced above. It''''''s so exciting to receive the result of 407cm, with the error of only 6cm! In measurement view, you may not click the right point at the first time, so we thought about it and solved it by adding the function ?key mapped? You can use the hardware key ?Mail? to cancel the last point. And you can use the arrow key to move the last point. MobileController
