Overview:

A medical image viewer freeware. It is an interactive system for planar and volume visualization which enables practitioners to quickly explore and analyze 3D medical or scientific data on a standard PC (Windows, Linux, MacosX). This software uses fast OpenGL graphics (ATI/NVidia) and is able to load a series of images stored in DICOM format (uncompressed and JPEG,) for medical review. Visualization tools include orthogonal MPR, volume rendering and multiple colormaps (automated conventional colormap and dedicated digestive surgery colormap). Analyzis tools include distance measurement tools and image processing operators. For astronomical research, FITS format is supported (only on MacOSX). These software applications are built on top of multiple open source systems like boost (for basic system), wxWidgets (for GUI), gdcm (for loading DICOM) and itk/vtk/vtkinria3d (for segmentation and visualization).
