The works of Beatrix Potter have been classics of children's literature for generations, and now you and your family can read 21 of her most famous stories in The Illustrated Beatrix Potter. The Illustrated Beatrix Potter contains: Cecily Parsley's Nursery Rhymes The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle The Roly-Poly Pudding The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse The Story of A Fierce Bad Rabbit The Tale of Peter Rabbit The Story of Miss Moppet The Tale of Pigling Bland The Tailor of Gloucester The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin The Tale of Benjamin Bunny The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies The Tale of Ginger and Pickles The Tale of the Pie and the Patty-Pan The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck The Tale of Timmy Tiptoes The Tale of Johnny Town-Mouse The Tale of Tom Kitten The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher The Tale of Two Bad Mice The Tale of Mr. Tod Beatrix Potter was born in 1866 into a well-to-do English family and, while not formally educated, she became interested in the small animals she encountered during family vacations. Potter published her first book, "The Tale of Peter Rabbit," in 1902 and followed it with 22 other works all published in a small format for little hands. After marrying for the first time at age 47, she bought large tracts of land in the English Lake District and ran a sheep farm. She was forced to give up writing in 1920 due to poor eyesight, and died in 1943. In her will, she left over 4,000 acres to the English National Trust, and it is now part of the Lake District National Park. Did You Know?
