Overview:

MobiForms is a rapid application development (RAD) tool for creating mobile applications for just about any wireless platform including Tablet PC, Pocket PC, Windows CE, Windows Mobile, Smartphone, Symbian or Palm. MobiForms offers all the tools in one "box" for the creation and deployment of any type of mobile application - from surveys to field service, from signature capture to bar coding. Inexpensive solutions can be built and deployed in minutes instead of days with the intuitive MobiForms graphical drag and drop interface. MobiForms uses Java, but the Java layer is totally hidden from the developer leaving you to concentrate on high-level business logic and the application look and feel. The latest release of MobiForms includes support for wireless PDA access to Microsoft SQL Server databases. With MobiForms is it now possible to remotely connect to most industry standard databases including Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, IBM DB2, SQLite, HSQLDB and MySQL. Alternatively for off-line local storage MobiForms runs with a range of PDA databases. The latest version of MobiForms has also been certified with the open-source HSQLDB database. MobiForms includes a free copy of HSQLDB for server, standalone or mobile database applications, complementing the MobiForms Developer tool and the Mobiforms runtime interpreter. New features include timers, SMTP email and commands that dynamically change object attributes at runtime like font colours and sizes. The Deployment Wizard has been extended to include more device and operating environment combinations including Pocket PC, Windows CE and Windows Mobile, and a tab for database deployment. With the Deployment Wizard a user can manage the development of a mobile application from design right through to deployment on to the mobile device without having to worry about manually configuring complicated files. MobiForms contains networking functionality so that client-server mobile applications can be built using serial, USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi or mobile phone connections. The MobiForms integrated MobiScript language includes file, data transfer and email commands using any given IP address and port combination with TCP/IP. A new image object type now adds support for JPG and GIF files.Other features include signature capture, sophisticated MobiScript commands enabling bar coding, connectivity to Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, IBM DB2, SQLite, HSQLDB and MySQL databases, or simple ASCII file access. The MobiForms development environment also includes features such as a colour palette and font chooser so that you can apply attributes directly to buttons, check boxes, fields, labels and lists.MobiForms is supplied with a Windows development environment. a runtime environment for Windows, Tablet PC, Pocket PC, Windows CE, Windows Mobile, Smartphone, Symbian or Palm, and a free copy of the HSQLDB database engine.
